In the case of heat-treatment of aluminum cylinders, the desired temperature for recrystallization approaches the melting point of the material; therefore, equal distribution of the heat load is crucial in order to avoid melting. To achieve the best results, a warm-up period must be followed by a particularly slow and even heat treatment. The aim of this project was to optimize the air flow in the furnace by determining the best configuration of the nozzles.
